While cleaning her house post Hurricane Katrina, my friend stumbled across this unusual item (no, she didn’t stumble because it was hers and she wasn’t wearing it). She had roughly thirteen feet of water in her house, but obviously someone had “one foot” less! It comes complete with the original shoe and sock, and boy did Katrina “shoe” her away and “sock” it to her! We looked high and low, but could not find the “sole” owner of this prosthetic. So here it is. On the “last leg” of it’s journey. I debated keeping it as the ultimate Katrina keepsake, but have decided to offer it up for sale here so that the proceeds may go to my friend to help rebuild her house and life in New Orleans. FEMA (or should I say FEMUR?) and her insurance company did not treat her well. I am relying on a generous bidder to make things at least a little easier on her.

Background info:
It started last tuesday where I was casually just washing up the dishes as I always do after my graze (that’s Zimbabwean slang for food). I was washing a glass which did have two break lines on it almsot forming a ‘V’. I should have seen it coming but as I was washing the edge of the glass… *snap!* the ‘V’ breaks off and the glass leaves a nice big gash* in my finger which won’t stop bleeding *cries*.

This was the first (and hopefully the last) time that I have ever broken a bone in my body. You’d think that a 39 year old man would know better than to try and move an immovable object with his fist. The reason for selling this cast is twofold. First is the memory of this whole experience, getting rid of the cast should help alleviate this a bit. The second reason is that eBay will not let me sell my wife in an auction. This of course brings me to the “why” for breaking my hand in the first place. Yes I have control of my own actions but there are somethings that can make a person so completely angry that they lose control every now and then.

I recently bought a bag of about 30 individually wrapped Double Bubble gum balls from the local dollar store. I kept the bag of gum balls in my car for a few days grabbing one or two every now and then. As it happened I had to go to my tax accountant’s office. Knowing that there were only a few left, I grabbed the bag of gum and took it into the office to share the remaining pieces with the 3 women that worked there. Just being friendly.
I reached in the bag and pulled out the remaining 4 pieces of gum and began to give one to each person in the office, and kept one for myself.
I was just about to open it and happened to look at it before I broke the seal on the wrapper. This is what I found!

Own a piece of history. Teen Heartthrob Dave Reamensnyder’s broken retainer from season 4 episode 6 of Dawson’s Creek when Dawson, played by James Van Der Beek slugged Dave on the docks and broke his retainer. Van Der Beek later apologized and has been Dave’s best friend ever since.
Dave is well known for his classical guitar talents. His last CD entitled, “Connie’s Slice of Love”, went platinum in 1994.

I got chipped by some aliens about few years ago. I was asleep and woke up to many lights and an alien front of my bed and pain in my left arm. I left it alone until last year. It started to bother me and I can see a small bump on my arm. I decided to take a razor blade and pliers to my bathroom.

In 2003 my friend had 6 screws and one plate inserted into his left arm after he was smashed into the boards at an indoor soccer game. He had very limited medical insurance at the time. He managed to pay for it then, but then late last year in 2005, he had to have them removed because they were about to tear some tendons in his arm. He kept the plate and screws as a souvenir of his injury. However, surgery isn’t cheap.
